Activity Details

Faerie House:
noun: whimsical habitats built by children, families, gardeners and nature lovers reflecting their creativity, joy and  pride.

Join Esther Spurr as she guides you through the creation of your own unique Fairy House. Using driftwood, old wood, twigs, baubles, moss, mirrors, shiny things and a variety of other interesting and “fairyish” components, each participant will make their very own fairy house to keep inside or hide in their garden.

In keeping with the Makers ethos of sharing resources and skills, participants are encouraged to bring items from their own stashes to add to the pool of goodies. Have any cool things? Miniature wood birds or flowers? Small mirrors or shiny things? Miniature trees? Cool buttons for doorknobs and decoration?  Mini hinges? Strips of bark or pieces of moss? Bring it in and let’s all share together and make truly inspired Fairy Houses. We have it on good authority that Fairies are most likely to move into houses made with generous, open spirits.

Each session is limited to fifteen  participants. Every participant, members and non members, must reserve their spot.

Bring any bits you might have at home that would be suitable for your (or others) Fairy houses. Examples would be:

old costume jewelry (especially with sparkles, crystals, colored glass, pearls or mother of pearl)

miniatures (birds, trees, flowers, etc.)

old CDs (for windows)
